Duh, we've all heard that before, right? Only now its gotten a bit personal... right again? You personally have too much credit card debt and its about to drive you crazy.

Well there IS hope so don't file those bankruptcy papers just yet. One major thing you have to keep in mind is your creditor is probably very willing to work with you. Its in their best interest to have you making some payment versus no payment. So here are a couple points to help you deal with your credit card debt.

1. The first thing you have to do is simply contact your creditor and let them know your situation. Ask for a lower interest rate or a repayment plan. You might not have thought of it because you're just naturally so polite but its a very good strategy to be courteous at all times when negotiating with your creditor. Polite, but firm. Come across as one who knows what you're
asking for and expect to get it. If you're not sure what you're asking for in the first place you might consider a reputable credit counseling service. There's a lot of great, honest organizations out there whose mission is to help you work things out with your creditors.

2. Next you've GOT to stop using your cards. Cut them up, freeze them in a tub of water, whatever you need to do to get them out of your wallet or purse, do it! You simply can't keep adding to the problem by running the debt up any higher. This is actually one of the hardest parts of cutting your credit card debt. Its like you're addicted to spending money you don't
have. So go cold turkey and drop the habit.

3. Start paying the ones with the highest interest rate first and work from there. How do you do that? Concentrate on those high interest rate cards by paying more than the minimum balance each month. The minimum is just designed to keep you on the hook longer anyway. The credit card companies are in this business to make a profit and want to have you paying them for years to come. Even a little extra each month makes a big difference in the long run.

Lastly, keep your chin up and have a good attitude. Millions of folks just like you have begun to cut their credit card debt by following the common sense steps outlined above. You can do it too. Good luck.

How To Avoid Being A Victim Of Ebay Buyer’s Fraud

From everything you’ve heard about the risk of fraud on eBay, you might think it’s only buyers getting scammed – but you couldn’t be more wrong. Here are a few common scams that sellers fall for every day.

The Rubber Cheque.

This one obviously isn’t limited to eBay – it’s been going on for years in all kinds of business. It works like this: a buyer sends you a cheque that they don’t have the funds to cover and you pay it in your bank. You then send the goods right away, only to find out a few days later that the cheque bounced.

The solution to this is simple: don’t send anything to a buyer until their payment has cleared, no matter how quickly they might say they need it. Advise them to pay electronically if they don’t want to wait so long for their items. Then again, if your items are quite small, you could just take the loss from an occasional bounced cheque. Think of it as a small price to pay for faster and better customer service.

‘I Never Bought Anything!’

This is one of the riskiest scams to fall victim to. In this case, the credit card’s real owner still has control over it – no-one has stolen their details. They have realised, however, that they can phone up the bank who issued their card to say that it’s being used fraudulently and they never bought any such thing, and the bank will often reverse the transaction without even investigating. The only way to beat this scam is to make all your sales through eBay, as they keep a record of transactions.

The Unconfirmed Address.

It is quite easy to steal PayPal accounts from inexperienced users: all you need, after all, is their email address and password. PayPal tries to protect against credit cards registered on stolen accounts being used to buy things by listing a ‘confirmed address’ for each buyer – an address that matches what is registered with their credit card issuer.

What many scammers will do is ask you to ship to a different address – unless you’re very sure of them, this is a bad idea, as they could be trying to commit credit card fraud. Be especially suspicious of anyone who wants to pay a higher price and get overnight shipping, especially if not even to the same country as the confirmed address. The fraudster is trying to make sure the item reaches them before they are discovered.

It’s up to you to take responsibility for fraud on PayPal, as eBay’s favourite way to refund fraudulent payments to their rightful owner is to just reverse it from you! This is considered an occupational risk of PayPal usage, and sellers who get burned severely sometimes go as far as moving to a rival electronic payment service. See http://www.nopaypal.com for more.

In the next email, we’ll take a closer look at PayPal, and ask: should it be the only kind of payment you accept?

About the author:
Kirsten Hawkins is an Ebay and internet auction enthusiast from Nashville, TN. Do you need more choices and the right solution? Read the entire article to find out how Debt Stacking can benefit you.

Each month you pay the minimums and although you KNOW you've got a handle on it - you are not charging your credit card or accumulating new debts anymore - it seems that you will be paying the minimum fees forever.

Did you know that HOW you pay your debts can affect how soon you will finishing paying them off - even if you keep paying the same amount for debt every month? Of course you might be able to get a consolidation loan, but if you're not eligible or are not interested then there are several other things you can do.

It's not always the easiest to figure out the mathematics, but there are three steps to quicker debt relief - guaranteed.

STEP ONE - Create a list.

List your smallest debts first followed by your largest high-interest debts (credit card) and then your largest low-interest debts (Lines of credit and taxes).

Plan to pay the minimums on all debts with these goals in mind:

STEP TWO - Small bills first.

They may not be the highest interest, but every bill that you are paying some interest on means you are usually only paying minimal amounts on the principal. Multiple debts are also a sure way to bring your spirits down. Paying off small debts first is a quick way to start checking them off - and freeing your mind.

STEP THREE - Move the payments along.

When one debt is paid add the funds to the next debt. For example, say you're making $75 payments to a small debt. When the debt is cleared add the $75 to the next debt on your list. If the next debt had a minimum payment of $100, you will now pay $175 until it is paid off. When that one is finished, take the $175 and add it to the next payment and so on.

STEP FOUR - Save the cash!

Don't forget that when your debts are cleared you have set yourself up for a better financial future. The best way to take advantage of your new situation is to use all the money you were spending on debts and start investing or saving it every month.

With this strategy your debts will clear faster meaning you will pay less interest, you will see progress as you clear small debts first, and you will not be tempted to use the funds for personal use instead of debt repayment.

It is a worthwhile goal to get out of debt. Seeing that goal come sooner and teaching yourself discipline sets you up for a brighter financial future. You OWE yourself that!

About the author:
James Louis writes about things that impact our society. The stages that lead up to bankruptcy can be very traumatic, with pressure from many areas with the feeling of failure that accompanies it very high so if you are facing bankruptcy, you should only deal with a specialist bankruptcy lawyer. The protection of bankruptcy appears like a desert island in a choppy sea, and you can't wait to swim there. But you need someone to throw you a life belt, and if you are wise or lucky, the person throwing a life belt will be a specialist bankruptcy lawyer.

There is a tendency amongst people that have a family lawyer to rely on them to help with any predicament but bankruptcy is different and should not be confused with something that a family lawyer would deal with. They will be emotionally and professionally ill equipped to handle your case, and the best piece of advice he or she can give you is to use a specialist lawyer. For every area of law there are experts that just practice in that area and this is no different for bankruptcy.

If this sort of situation arises it will be the services of a bankruptcy attorney your need not an expert in the field of criminal law or divorce. It should give you peace of mind knowing that you have the best person to represent you in all aspects of the bankruptcy including someone who can help with the matter of filing for the bankruptcy case.

During this time it is easy to hold information back but everything can help and it is for your lawyer to decide whether information is pertinent to the bankruptcy or not. Your bankruptcy lawyer will be expensive so do not keep facts to yourself that could have important bearings on how your bankruptcy will proceed.

All available funds must be declared but it is not unusual for people to keep some hidden from their lawyers and sometimes their family as well. Bankruptcy lawyers are no fools and they have a responsibility to the legal system, even more than they do to any specific client so if you find yourself in a situation where you have become insolvent, then it is in your best interest to come clean with your bankruptcy lawyer to the full extent of your financial affairs.

If you play fair with the system then you will find your bankruptcy lawyer will be able to do more for you so hopefully one day your bankruptcy will be just a memory. Although it may seem impossible, there is life after a bankruptcy, one the people you owed money to cannot touch you and you are able to get your credit rating back.

Bankruptcy Lawyers Part II

There aren't many individuals who have gone through the painful process of bankruptcy more than once as that is usually enough for the average person. There is a social stigma attached to bankruptcy which causes stress to everyone involved and especially the person making the action as society views them as a failure.

Very few people actually look forward to filing for bankruptcy and normally to get to that stage, it is generally believed that everything else has been tried and the only way forward is to locate a local bankruptcy lawyer. Owing to the complexities of each states laws and those of the federal government, a specialist bankruptcy lawyer will be required and not someone whom performs this only a few times a year.

While it may seem like a good idea to find the least expensive lawyer available, in the cases of bankruptcy, you get what you pay for and if you opt for the cheapest then you may pay the price later as they may miss things you can apply for that a more proficient lawyer would not. Bankruptcy law can be complex so you need to choose an attorney who can explain the steps to you as well as how much his or her services will cost and just what they will do for their money.

It is important they can deal with all aspects of your bankruptcy both local state laws and federal laws without resorting to using someone else and they also need to produce good references as well. All you need to do is this stage is locate a small number of bankruptcy lawyers to assess their ability so when an appointment has been made to see them, take along a number of questions you would like answered.

The second reason for the questions is to see how well they know the law on bankruptcy as it will not be difficult to check on the answers later but make sure you fully understand their answers before you finish each meeting. Using an attorney can make this much easier. Most debtors will find that once this means-testing is over, most of the changes to the law end there, and they will be able to proceed with the application just as did before the changes were introduced.

This allows them, under normal circumstances, to keep their home and car for instance. There are also additional items such as clothing, household furniture and personal property that are not included.

Of course each State has its own exemptions which may or may not go beyond federal ones so your bankruptcy lawyer must be aware of these in advance of your petition. The chances are that the person filing for bankruptcy does not own very high value items. Very soon after you've filed bankruptcy, you'll begin to get credit offers and you will want to exercise great caution in deciding which offers to accept, and when.~You will notice within a short period of time after your bankruptcy has been filed that applications for credit are already forthcoming.~What this means is that within a relatively short space of time after you become bankrupt you will start receiving credit applications but at this stage you must be very careful.~This is the reason why not long after you have been made bankrupt, a whole host of companies offering credit will start contacting you, but you must be very careful at this time.~To prove this point, your lawyer should warn you about certain financial companies that contact bankrupt people and offer credit.~Extreme caution is required here.}

These types of credit agreements usually have hidden and extortionate charges that will usually make the financial situation worse for the person that is bankrupt. If you only accept credit deals that you can handle comfortably and you always pay more than the minimum amount, your credit history will start to rebuild itself. Your bankruptcy will still appear on your credit record for the full ten years but it should not cause you problems if you decide to buy a house, car or arrange another unsecured loan.

While this incorrect and harmful attitude continues, many people will struggle unnecessarily with their finance rather than become bankrupt. If this attitude continues, it will just ensure that legislation will become more restrictive. Don't be fooled though, because your bankruptcy lawyer will tell you that most people that file for bankruptcy protection have just been unlucky and never had any intention of this happening.

Additional Help from Ebooks

Foreclosure or Bankruptcy

One must decide whether or not to choose bankruptcy or foreclosure. However, it is not as simple as a case of either /or and a decision cannot be made this easily. A foreclosure proceeding will be resorted to by a mortgage lender it the monthly mortgage obligations are not met. The only way to stop this from occurring is to pay the mortgage lender. Mortgage loans are just like car loans, if you do not make payments you will lose it. Therefore the same result will apply to a person does not pay his mortgage payments; he will lose his home through foreclosure.

Bankruptcy is a last resort legal way to get out of paying your debts if you are unable to do so. While the debtor is going through bankruptcy, this step puts an end to anyone engaged in civil proceedings. A mortgage lender must stop all legal actions, including foreclosure proceedings. But, a mortgage company can try for relief from the stay, and when it is allowed, just continue with the action mentioned earlier. The truth is bankruptcy does not stop foreclosure nor does it allow you to keep your house with out paying the mortgage lender. Bankruptcy may make your financial problems easier to handle, but it will not make them completely go away.

Bankruptcy can provide more time and manageable payments to a creditor to possibly avoid foreclosure proceedings. A mortgage provider is required to suspend the foreclosure action, allowing the debtor a small window in which to raise the funds. It is the last resort for any debtor to declare bankruptcy when he is totally unable to meet his creditors commitments. Under such circumstances, he may be discharged by some unsecured debts but under mortgage, he shall be prepare to repay the debt within the given time as the debt is secured by tangible assets. Also, a chapter 13 bankruptcy is a court ordered payment plan and allows a debtor to pay the mortgage catch up amount over a period of time.

Sadly, not every person will be eligible for bankruptcy, and even if they are found eligible, there are still legal costs. It could cost you more in legal fees and costs then it may to catch up your mortgage payments. If you are of the mind that declaring bankruptcy may benefit your situation and help you get out of a foreclosure, a good lawyer should be able to answer your questions. Bankruptcy is so detailed that you should not try to handle it by yourself.

This article contains information of a general nature, therefore if you have further questions on the matter you should discuss them with a licensed legal professional in your own state.

Visit us for more information and advice at
http://weknowbankruptcy.blogspot.com
http://jaclis.thebestbizreview.com
http://www.ezinfocenter.com/9938850/FREE

The Difficulty In Medical Bankruptcy

As the world becomes more and more unhealthy, medical bankruptcy becomes more likely as people fight to cure various diseases and ailments associated with their lifestyle. Unforeseen medical bills can also wreak havoc on individuals that are unable to work while they are seriously ill. This may also be the case for individuals who have health insurance. Medical bankruptcy may be treated with a bit more sympathy by some courts, depending on the situation of the individual. Examples of Groups Filing for Medical Bankruptcy People who are 65 and over are more likely to suffer from medical bankruptcy than younger and healthier age groups. It goes without saying that the body becomes more prone to illness the older that we get. This makes it inevitable that as we get older and can longer work to pay the bills, we may be faced with medical bankruptcy in the case of a serious illness, if we have not taken preventative measures prior to the diagnosis. Another group which is likely to file for medical bankruptcy is that of young single mothers. If their spouses have abandoned them and their children, and do not pay any child support, the mother will be left to pay these high expenses by herself. It is a difficult situation for any parent who has a sick child to care for, and if it is the parent who is sick herself then there will be no one to earn the money to pay the bills. Low wage earners are another group that may find themselves filing for medical bankruptcy. At times it may be difficult to find jobs that can support all of a family’s needs, so finding the money for unexpected medical bills can be a nearly impossible task for this group. Poor education and lack of practical skills can be attributing factors to this problem, and will require further investigation when the time arises. Some people will file for medical bankruptcy simply because the medical systems are not willing to work out any payment schedules for them to repay their debts. Cases such as these have risen steadily over the years, and are now quite a common occurrence in bankruptcy courts around the country. Since many folks do not have large amounts of money readily available to pay mounting hospital costs, the only choice for some is to declare medical bankruptcy. If you fall into any of these categories, you may find the claiming medical bankruptcy is the best choice for you to get out from under the weight of your bills. This bankruptcy is normally seen in a more sympathetic light than others by the courts and lenders, since the circumstances are generally unforeseen and unavoidable.

Simon Peters is the owner of http://on-bankruptcy.com, it is THE best source for advice on the subject on bankruptcy. This bill promises some changes to law, and module make it more arduous for the average person in financial trouble to hit debts removed with bankruptcy. Recent social and scheme changes indicate that those considering a insolvency should do so now, as the queue is getting longer.

It module be today be harder to file low Chapter 7 of the code, which allows the courts to wave consumer debt and give the debtor a new start. Filings posted module be tested and those who hit a decent income it seems module hit to file low a more strenuous Chapter 13, which demands repayment by installments and the assistance of a lawyer. Now looming, insolvency filings are not only higher than they were previously, but are also higher than expected. Acros the country, filings are substantially higher than last year, and some insolvency practitioners say that their playing has increased dramatically.

To make it more confusing is another law, that requires credit card companies to found a payment schedule that permits consumers to repay debts in amended installments. An average person with say $12,000 in credit card debt, module hit approximate monthly payment increases from between $150 to $450, an increase most people can ill afford.

This increase in insolvency filings has overwhelmed insolvency lawyers, who face a burden of being liable for false information filed by clients once the new accumulation takes effect. Certainly an unwelcome change. This additional liability, together with the additional tasks, has prompted some lawyers to raise fees substantially over the same time as last year.

What does this mean for intense debt? From here on, insolvency filings module be more confusing, complicated and costly. The system is already full with insolvency cases. Companies that set themselves up this way also help with the payments to lenders as high interest rates and charges mount up and provide other options to help with the situation.

Their intervention needs to be done fairly early or the ongoing money problem will get worse and may result in a case of personal bankruptcy if it is allowed to continue. It is generally known that people who seek the help of an emergency debt relief program are those who have very high credit card debt and most likely overspend well beyond their means. However, it may be a situation where the debts have become unmanageable because of increasing interest rates or a job loss.

An emergency debt relief program can ensure you get out of your predicament quickly by using the services of agencies and programs designed for people who have serious financial problems. You can get involved in educational program services that will teach you how to both manage your expenses wisely and set realistic financial goals. The purpose of these debt relief programs is to open negotiations and arrange settlement figures which can be managed while freezing the interest rates.

These debt relief programs also help people to organize their finances better. There is no need to worry about any leakage of information as state laws do not permit any company to divulge personal information. However, it does mean that you have the chance to reclaim your financial well-being back in a reasonable time frame. Eventually, you can start paying for everything with cash because you will soon learn to budget your expenses.

Each person knows exactly how much money is due for payment each month, so you must learn to keep a check on excessive spending, then when spare cash is available, a little extra can be paid off. It is always a good habit to pay early and not wait for the final reminder each time. One of the hardest but most sensible things to do is cancel all but one of the credit cards. In reality, only one credit card is actually needed and will help you save a great deal each month on interest payments. Expect it to take anywhere from three to five years to be completely debt free but this, of course, is dependent upon your spending habits, how diligently you follow the suggested financial plan, and how much debt you have.

Debt Relief Tips 2

It's true that increasing numbers of Americans are becoming bogged down by debt. However, Personal Bankruptcy is not always the best option. The problem may have occurred suddenly due to job loss or a medical emergency. Remember that there are others just like you and there are ways to overcome this situation. Keep in mind, however, that debt relief doesn't come overnight, and debt doesn't just disappear, it can only disappear completely when it is paid off.

TV and radio have commercials about debt relief on a regular basis as do the papers. I caution you against committing to anything that is heavily advertised without knowing exactly what you are getting yourself into. Warnings are now coming from the Federal Trade Commission about signing up with companies that advertise in this way. It is not helpful when you still have a bad credit record even after using one of these companies.

There are a few ways you can start your debt relief off. Always start by contacting the companies you owe money to, they can usually lower the repayments to help. An arrangement for payment could be set up which will lower the possibility of poor credit later. Consumers can get help from credit counseling companies although there is sometimes a small charge, they can provide their services for free. It may just be a simple case of having someone impartial look at you monthly expenditure or perhaps contact you creditors on your behalf.

If you follow the advice these credit counseling services provide you won't hurt your credit rating. It is always worth contacting these companies as they have a huge amount of experience in methods designed to alleviate debt. Your home may be useful if there is equity in it as your bank may be able to arrange an equity loan for you if you have a steady job. The equity in your home can also be an option for a reverse mortgage. More than likely, the possibility of losing your home and another debt may not be what you want at this stage. Have you considered the benefits of a second job, even part-time, the income would help your situation.

A second, sometimes third part-time job is normal for some families if they want to put food on the table and pay their debts. Remember reducing your debt will only be a temporary fix for a temporary problem. Most importantly, whatever you do, don't forget to cut up the credit cards because you are less likely to get into more debt without them.

Credit Card Bankruptcy

It's fair to say that Increasing numbers of U.S citizens are becoming bogged down by credit card debt. Some people find themselves in financial difficulty and have credit card debts because of a job loss or unexpected medical expenses. Others are in that position because of overspending and poor financial planning, but whatever the grounds for being in debt there are some ways to get help with credit card bankruptcy. There are no immediate solutions and your credit card bankruptcy will take some time to attain, and will not be completely resolved until the debt is cleared.

You can see ads in the newspapers and TV commercials about credit card bankruptcy every day. Still, you would be wise not to commit to anything that is heavily publicized until you know more about it. Credit card bankruptcy consolidation companies must be of concern to the Federal Trade Commission because they are warning people about the practices of these establishments. Often, when trying to sort out your credit card debt, you end up with poor credit anyway and those establishments that promised to help you may have ended up hindering you.

While your credit card bankruptcy isn't always immediate, there are some ways to start the procedure and it is essential to get it started at the earliest opportunity. The initial thing you should do if you are having difficulties is contact the company whose credit card you have and explain the position as often they can reduce the interest rates for a short period or possibly lower the monthly payments. They may even be able to set up a payment plan that will help you without damaging your credit rating. You can also contact a credit card guidance service and they can be of great help to consumers for a low fee or often no fee at all. It is often the case that they just sit down and go through your budget with you and highlight ways to save money and sometimes mediate with your credit card company for you. It never hurts to follow the advice of these professionals as credit card guidance service establishments will know exactly that what you plan to do will affect your credit rating. Sometimes you need to make a mental adjustment because these establishments have a massive amount of knowledge to help with your credit card bankruptcy.

If possible, arrange a meeting with your bank who may be able to release some spare equity in your house to help with your credit card bankruptcy demands but this will only be possible if you have a steady financial income. Remember, this will mean having another large monthly payment to help with your credit card debt and of course, your home is at risk if you default on a mortgage repayment. Another less costly alternative is to find part-time employment which could be used purely to help with your credit card bankruptcy. It is not unusual for many people to have more that one line of work not just to aid with their credit card debt but to feed their family. Some may not be a permanent position, just a interim until you get enough of extra income to live comfortably again.
